Stakeholder Examples

Can you give me examples of stakeholders, especially ones I should not overlook?

Core stakeholder

Some key stakeholders you should consider

·         The project management team

·         You, as project manager or team leader

·         And your immediate support staff

·         Upper management

·         The people to whom you report directly

·         Support departments

·         Those in other departments of your company

·         Who will be contributing to the project

·         Or affected by it !

Director, sponsor, customer

·         The project sponsor, or project director

·         Essentially the person who controls the project's budget funding

·         And gives overall project direction and approvals

·         And seeing that the benefits from the project's product are realized !

·         The customer

·         Who may or may not be the same as the sponsor

·         And who may or may note be the end user

End users and their associates

·         End users

·         The people to whom you will hand over the product

·         And who will actually use it when delivered

·         Peer managers

·         Those responsible for associated systems

·         With which the product must interact

·         And be compatible

Contractors and vendors

·         Contractors

·         Who will be providing services to the project

·         And have a legitimate profit motive

·         In participating in a well-run project

·         Vendors

·         Who will be providing goods for the project

·         And will be looking for repeat business

The opposition

·         Competitors or the disenfranchised

·         Those who will no longer be required

·         If the project is to improve productivity

·         And have a vested interest in seeing the project fail

·         For whatever reason!
